Summit Landscapes – Wood Green Resin Surface

We were commissioned by Wood Green Animal Shelter in Huntingdon to update some of their outdoor spaces to coincide with the opening of their new welcome centre.

We created a large new customer outdoor eating area with bespoke metal planters. This involved us resurfacing the entire area with resin bound gravel. Owing to the size of the area this had to be completed in a number of stages so discrete metal beading was used to enable the area to be sectioned off. We also resurfaced the pathway from the new eating area back down to the in a different coloured resin.

The metal planters were fabricated on site to ensure that they met our exacting standards, from 5mm thick mild steel that will over time develop a beautiful protective patina. The fully welded 1m cube planters with seamless joints are large enough to take a mature silver birch tree and constructed in such a way that they are movable using the onsite forklift, an important design constraint specified by Wood Green.

We were also asked to complete the line painting of several zebra crossings and to install vinyl pawprints on the main pathway from the carpark to the new welcome centre as a guide for new visitors unfamiliar with its location.
